Yukos International UK B.V. disagrees with PKN ORLEN's claims in connection with the purchase of AB Maziekiu Nafta shares

Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN Spolka Akcyjna ('PKN ORLEN') hereby announces that in connection with the agreement on the sale of AB Mazeikiu Nafta shares, concluded on 26 May 2006, PKN ORLEN received from Yukos International UK B.V., headquartered in the Netherlands ('Yukos International') notice in which Yukos International disagrees with PKN ORLEN's claims against Yukos International relating to differences between Yukos International's statements made on 14 December 2006 with the actual state of AB Mazeikiu Nafta, and the same does not agree to transfer to PKN ORLEN the amount retained in the escrow account. After analyzing the contents of this letter PKN ORLEN announces that it does not accept Yukos International's standpoint and intends to conduct further actions to claim against Yukos International's liability for the discrepancy between the challenged statements and the actual state of affairs.
PKN ORLEN S.A. owns ca. 90% of AB Mazeikiu Nafta shares.
